Privacy Policy

The short version. Denge looks at your photos and documents on your iPhone, and nothing it looks at is ever uploaded, to us or anyone else. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and heyisoft runs no servers that receive your data.

Two things do leave the device: an approximate location (never a photo, never its exact position) sent to Apple to look up city names, which you can switch off, and purchase information with an anonymous identifier, used to check whether Denge Pro is active.

1. Who we are

Denge ("the app") is developed and published by heyisoft ("we", "us"). For any privacy matter, write to heyisoft@gmail.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Denge app for iPhone and this website. It explains what the app handles, where that happens, and the choices you have.

3. Information the app handles

DataWhere it livesPurpose
Your photos and videos On your device. Read from your photo library with your permission and analysed on the iPhone with Apple Vision. Never uploaded Sorting the library into categories and finding shots to clean up
What the app works out from your photos: labels, categories and similarity fingerprints On your device only, in an index kept in the app's own storage. Never uploaded Showing categories and grouping similar shots
Small thumbnails of items you deleted in the app On your device only. You can clear the list in the app The "Deleted here" history
An approximate location: the centre of a grid cell roughly 5 km across Sent to Apple's reverse-geocoding service (Apple Maps). Never a photo's exact position and never the photo itself. Can be switched off Showing city names
Documents in folders you choose On your device. Files stay where they are. A little text is extracted on the device, including with text recognition (OCR). Nothing is uploaded Sorting documents by topic
Files you share to the app with the share sheet or "Open in" Copied into the app's own "Received" folder, which you can see in the Files app under On My iPhone. Nothing is uploaded Including them in the Documents tab
Subscription status and purchase information Payment is handled by Apple. Whether Denge Pro is active is checked through RevenueCat, which receives purchase information and an anonymous identifier the app generates. No name, email, photos or documents Unlocking Denge Pro and restoring it

4. What we do not collect

5. Place names, and how to switch them off

To show which city a photo was taken in, the app rounds the location to the centre of a grid cell roughly 5 km across and sends only that point to Apple's reverse-geocoding service, which returns a place name. The exact position of a photo, and the photo itself, are never sent. Apple handles this request under Apple's privacy policy.

You can switch this off in the app's Settings with the Look Up Place Names switch under Places. From then on, nothing is sent.

6. Permissions and system features

7. Albums in Apple Photos

The albums Denge keeps up to date are created in your Photos library, in a folder called Denge. They stay in your library until you delete them, including if you delete the app.

8. Retention and deleting your data

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data. We hold no personal data about you, because the app keeps everything on your device. If you have a request or a question, write to heyisoft@gmail.com.

10. Children

Denge is not directed at children under 13.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will appear here with a new "last updated" date.
