Terms of Use

🐾 The short version. Dog Translator is free to record, analyse and translate — always, with no account. Some extra chat phrases are optional content, opened either by watching one rewarded video or with a monthly subscription. It reads your dog’s sounds for fun and for gentle observation — it is not a veterinary tool and it does not diagnose anything.

1. Agreement

By installing or using Dog Translator ("the app") you agree to these terms. The app is provided by heyisoft. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What the app is

Dog Translator records a dog vocalisation, measures its acoustic properties on your device, and shows which context that sound most resembles, together with a confidence figure. It also lets you keep a diary and play real recorded dog calls back to your dog.

3. What the app is not

Not a translator in the literal sense. No one can turn a bark into a sentence. The app maps acoustics onto contexts observed in research, and it tells you when it is unsure instead of guessing.
Not a veterinary or medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or rule out any condition. The "health radar" only flags shifts from your dog’s own usual pattern.
Not a substitute for a vet. If your dog seems unwell, contact a veterinarian. Never delay veterinary care because of something this app showed you.

4. Your responsibilities

Use the app on your own dog, considerately. Stop playing sounds if your dog seems stressed or agitated.
Do not use the app to record people without their knowledge.
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app or its bundled sound library.

5. Price, ads and subscription

Recording, analysis and translation are free and unlimited, and stay that way. Part of the chat phrase library is optional extra content, which you can open in one of two ways:

Watch one rewarded video — opens everything for 3 hours, at no cost, as often as you like. The pass is kept on your device only: it does not move to another phone and it is lost if you uninstall the app.
Subscribe to Dog Translator Pro — US$1.99 per month; the price in your own currency is shown in the app before you confirm. It keeps the same content open for as long as the subscription is active.

The subscription renews automatically every month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and your store account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of that. You manage or cancel it in your own store account — App Store → your name → Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android — not through us, and deleting the app does not cancel it. Payment is taken and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. If a price changes you will be asked to agree before it applies to you.

If you reinstall or change phone, use Restore purchases on the unlock screen or in Settings to bring an active subscription back.

Ads: the only advertising in the app is that rewarded video, and only when you choose to watch one. What the ad network receives, and how to change your consent, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

6. Content and licences

The dog sounds bundled with the app come from openly licensed Freesound recordings (CC0 and CC BY 3.0/4.0) and are credited clip by clip inside the app, under Settings → Sound sources, and in our Privacy Policy. The app itself, its design, text and model remain the property of heyisoft.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the app working but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and operating-system updates may temporarily break things. We may change or discontinue features.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, heyisoft is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any decision you make about your dog’s health. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
